5 billion years

COMMISSIONED by Springboard Danse Montreal under the Emerging Choreographer Award

Work in process premiere: June 26, 2022 at USCINE C in Montreal, QC

'5 billion years', born from the crucible of the Emerging Choreographer Award at Springboard Danse Montreal 2022, is a choreographic exploration mirroring the creation of Earth and humanity's impact.

The piece scrutinizes the harsh realities of colonial influence, religion, and power in the relentless destruction of our planet. Delving into emotional patterns on a micro level, it abstractly reveals how our actions resonate across the ecosystem. This poignant dance narrative intertwines the cosmic and the personal, inviting reflection on our shared responsibility for Earth's fate, challenging the audience to confront urgent environmental and societal issues.
